Founder and head coach of the school. His journey with sports began in the 3rd grade of elementary school, but it wasn’t until the 6th grade that he started training martial arts. Initially, it was judo, Kyokushin karate, several years of aikido, and Northern style Kung-Fu Wu-Shu. Simultaneously, he was an athlete for Cracovia in the mountain biking section. Later came fencing, and it is his passion to this day. After University, he faced the tough choice of what should become a hobby and what a way of life — fencing or mathematics. The balance tipped in favor of fighting. He has been a student of many outstanding coaches in both fencing and Eastern martial arts. He was taught by A. Drewniak, D. Zięba, M. Adamowicz, W. Rutkowski, and finally under Professor Z. Czajkowski (with whom he completed the fencing instructor course). In 1998, he began forming his own group and then a school.

We recommend following the film productions on our channel, where he plays leading roles!

Marcin Sośniak

  • At the School since: 2016
  • Favorite weapons: Épée and rapier
  • City: Krakow

By day, an ordinary, unassuming IT specialist. By night, he runs around Krakow with a sab… I mean, an épée, challenging people to duels in dark alleys. Legends say no one has ever accepted his challenge. Besides fencing and work, he spends his time recording videos, carrying lights, and playing computer games.

Jan Szydłowski

  • Favorite weapon: szabla
  • Education: currently intensively studying Physics for Business

Grzegorz Czarny

  • At the School since: 2003
  • Favorite weapons: Rapier, épée, sabre
  • City: Krakow

At SFA, he serves as a coach responsible for the Krakow branch. In his youth, he practiced Oyama karate for 5 years and has been involved in mountain biking for many years. His excellent organizational skills, fighting spirit, and common sense make him the person who keeps SFA from descending into chaos. For some reason, he is called “Satan.” He speaks at least 17 languages. In reality, it’s five, but no one knows how he manages it with so many training sessions each week.

Dominika Skoczeń

  • At the School since: 2011
  • Favorite weapon: Épée
  • City: Krakow

Before she began her adventure with fencing, she tormented people by playing the violin. She currently writes books and runs a YouTube channel called Czerw Fantastyczny. She trained in acrobatics and is now also practicing Chen taijiquan under the guidance of Krzysztof Kęsek, an acclaimed master of Eastern martial arts.

Tomasz Powroźnik

  • Favorite weapon: szabla
  • Education: Master of Science in Engineering in Mining and Geology, AGH University of Science and Technology

He began his fencing journey in the Wrocław branch, but after several years he returned to Kraków, where he currently runs classes in Ruczaj. Piotr Hudy

  • At the School since: 2019
  • favorite weapon: épée
  • education: higher education, Tourism and Recreation, University School of Physical Education (AWF)
  • city: Wieliczka

After joining the fencing school, Piotr decided to write his master’s thesis related to it and plans to continue doing what he loves 100%. Professionally, he has been working in gastronomy for years, both on the restaurant floor and behind the bar. What he values most in his work is contact with guests. Thanks to his natural talkativeness, he encourages them to try their hand at MCF.

Jakub Jankowiak

  • at the School since: 2010
  • favorite weapon: épée
  • education: Mechatronics Engineer
  • city: Kraków

He opened the Poznań branch and currently focuses on individual fencing lessons in Kraków. Professionally, he works in engineering. If asked what he values most in fencing, he would say the people—those who extended a helpful forearm and allowed themselves to be hit with a counterattack. In fast moments he enjoys riding a motorcycle; in slower ones he goes running, and in the slowest moments he models crazy ideas in Blender.

Krystian Pilch

  • At the school since: 2014
  • Favorite weapon: Footwork
  • Education: PhD in Humanities (Linguistics)
  • City: Orawka

On a daily basis, he fights his battles at work on the front lines of English language education, and at home on the front lines of raising the next generation. In his spare time, he writes varia—ranging from research on language and the fencing community to lyric poetry and prose. From time to time, he can also be found plucking plucked chordophones.

Following the example of the battle strategy Obi-Wan adopted on Mustafar, he founded his fencing division in mountainous regions, starting in Orawa, thus gaining a distinctive “high ground” over other branches. There, he teaches his highlander compatriots the use of the épée, sabre, and rapier with a dagger. He does not—and with one hundred percent certainty—intend to introduce the ciupaga into MCF.

During her studies, she was a judo athlete at the AZS Politechnika Krakowska. Wife, mother, homemaker. After a series of battles with her son using toy swords, she decided she wanted to properly master a real weapon. She mainly leads children’s training sessions, but no matter which Wrocław class you attend, you’ll likely meet her. As a coach, she demonstrates patience and warmth (tempered with firmness). A trained philosopher, she is fascinated by people and observes with interest how different they are. Through fencing initiatives, she seeks opportunities for collaboration. Occasionally, she produces promotional videos for the school and is learning video editing. ŁÓDŹ, PIOTRKÓW TRYBUNALSKI, WARSAW

Bartłomiej Mysłek

  • At the School since: 2011
  • Favorite weapons: sabre and rapier
  • Education: Construction Technician; MA in English Philology (specialization in teaching and translation)
  • City: Piotrków Trybunalski, Łódź, Warsaw

Legend has it that he started training fencing so long ago that he used it to defend himself against dinosaurs—but in reality, he began back in 2004 while still at university. In 2011, he joined the School, bringing with him the Piotrków Trybunalski branch, which he had founded himself in 2009. In 2012, he opened a branch in Łódź, and three years later another one in Warsaw.

In addition to fencing, he has been teaching English at various levels for many years, which explains his patience, voice projection, and fondness for both edged and blunt weapons (pointers). A fan of 1980s and 1990s music, he is saving up for a 1967 Chevrolet Impala—though for now he drives a Volvo. He is interested in history and fantasy, is regarded as an expert in weapon studies, and possesses deep lore knowledge from at least several fandoms. In his spare time, he dances on the burial mounds of his enemies. If he isn’t fighting or grading tests, he’s probably walking his dogs or planning to open yet another branch and build an army worthy of Mordor.
